Trivia:
Outtakes show that the original premise was to have Charles Chaplin play one of the employees at the clinic, but switched the roles with John Rand (who was to play the inebriate) after an uninspired performance. Chaplin himself specialized in drunken characters in the English music hall where he grew up.

Synopsis:
Charlie decides that he should partake in a "water cure" at a spa and there he meets a girl and a man with gout. The poor man's foot is never safe with Charlie around. Charlie brought with him bottles of liquor, of which a bellboy finds and partakes. The manager catches him and forces him to empty the bottles... right into the "curative waters". The rest of the guests go wild after sampling the water and Charlie ends up in the drink.
