Charlie works at a pawnshop. He gets in a fight with a co-worker and is fired, but appeals for a second chance on behalf of his 11 children... which do not exist. The pawnbroker relents. A crook enters the shop and tries to rob the shop. Meanwhile, Charlie is hiding in a trunk after another fight with his co-worker, and spies the crook trying to open the vault. Charlie knocks out the crook, and wins the pawnbroker's daughter in the process
